We offer a component that permits Joomla to use foreign databases in place of the native mySQL database. The foreign database can be used exclusively for user authentication, or for providing data for Joomla core operation and also component support. 

Includes a simple back-end administration page that assigns specific members to a secure Joomla user group.  This user group's access and privileges can be defined in the remote database.
